Immersive VR Pedestrian Simulator

  • ―Unity simulator for Meta Quest 3 with three street-crossing levels, from single-lane roads to multi-lane traffic.
  • ―Object-oriented C# components: vehicle controllers, raycast speed measurement, trigger-zone events and collision logic.
  • ―Pedestrian agents with NavMesh pathfinding, user test scenarios and a co-authored research paper.

Objective

Build an immersive VR environment for studying pedestrian street-crossing behaviour.

Team contribution

Member of a seven-person project team and co-author of the research paper.

Approach

The team used Unity and Meta Quest 3 to create dynamic traffic, environmental audio and real-time feedback.

Result

An interactive prototype with three crossing scenarios and a jointly authored project paper.

Thermal Optimisation of a Motor-Controller PCB

  • ―Planned four test configurations and varied one parameter at a time.
  • ―Optimised fin count, fin thickness and base height of the heat sink.
  • ―Result: 65 % lower component temperature (154 °C → 54 °C).

Objective

Improve heat dissipation in a motor-controller PCB using ANSYS Icepak.

Team contribution

Worked in a four-person bachelor’s project team on thermal analysis and cooling-design comparison.

Approach

Compared four cooling configurations. Varied heat-sink fin count, fin thickness and base height, then assessed forced airflow.

Result

Simulated maximum temperature fell from 154 °C to 54 °C with the optimised heat sink and fan: a reduction of 100 °C.

Parametric Gear Demonstrator

  • ―Fully parametric Lua program (IceSL): profile shift and pressure angle update the geometry live.
  • ―3D-printed and assembled gears, shaft pins and stand at the correct centre distance.
  • ―14-page user guide with 22 figures so anyone can repeat the build.

Objective

Develop a parametric involute gear demonstrator to explore profile shift.

Team contribution

Member of the three-person project group, contributing to gear modelling and technical documentation.

Approach

Used Lua and IceSL for adjustable gear geometry. Linked the model to STL export, slicing, G-code preparation and assembly.

Result

A gear demonstrator, an 18-page technical report and a 14-page illustrated user guide.
